MIAMI 1994 – FTAA PROCESS – PLAN OF ACTION I – PRESERVING AND STRENGTHENING THE COMMUNITY OF DEMOCRACIES OF THE AMERICAS.

STRENGTHENING MUTUAL TRUST

Expanding and consolidating democracy (and sociocracy) in the Americas, provide the opportunity to show due appreciation for traditions of peace and relationships of cooperation that predominate among and between the countries of the Western Hemisphere. Our objective is to strengthen the mutual trust that paves the way for the social and economic integration of our peoples. We need to first improve ourselves, by educating our human sentiments, which, in this day and age, are seriously distorted by an excess of egotism. We need to increase, among the peoples, the notion of tenderness, that is to say, to spread the concept of altruism, and while doing so, to subordinate any remaining traces of egotism to altruism.

Should the occasion arise, I will scientifically explain the main egotistical and altruistic sentiments, based on the brain theory of Augusto Comte. This theory scientifically explains human behavior as part of the seven theorems comprising the construction science or scientific psychology or the positive theory of moral science.

This is why strengthening trust means ensuring that each of the parties involved is familiar, not only with their needs but also with the needs of the others. Live for others. Many times we are forced to fight for all, so that we can win. The others will also be thinking of doing the same for us.

Only in this way will be possible to foster and strengthen mutual trust. I am well aware that we are a far cry from this stage, but the reality is that if we do not embark upon this process, this train of thought and feeling, we will never achieve mutual trust.
