IDRC Training Awards | Training awards are given for long-term training of citizens of developing countries, usually for a graduate degree program. These awards are only given in the context of an IDRC project or program and can be given for project-related, program development, or institutional development reasons. Priority is given to providing training in the home country/region or in another developing country. | IDRC does not accept applications for training awards, as these are given in the context of existing IDRC projects or programs. Candidates must either be Canadian citizens/permanent residents or citizens of a developing country and must have completed their formal training. Research Fellowships | Research Fellowships of six months to two years duration are granted for research in areas that accord with IDRC's Corporate Program Framework. These fellowships are not offered on a regular basis but are awarded at the discretion of the Centre.
