Electronic Commerce for Developing Countries (EC-C)

The objectives of EC-DC are to:

• Enable developing countries to use existing infrastructures and services  to participate in electronic commerce
• Facilitate the transfer of electronic commerce technology and increase public awareness
• Stimulate the planning and deployment of the telecommunication infrastructure.

Activities:

• Assist in the definition of electronic commerce policies, strategies, procedures and standards.
• Define technical and financial requirements and specifications for  a cost-effective implementation.
• Develop approaches to enable the integration of electronic commerce using existing infrastructure and services.
• Help in building local capacity and increase public awareness in electronic commerce and related technologies.
