Twelfth Meeting

Panama City, 25- 26 July, 2001

PRESS COMMUNIQUE

 

  1. The Twelfth Meeting of the Committee of Government Representatives on the Participation of Civil Society, took place in Panama from July 25-26, 2001. Representatives of 15 countries attended, some of them also representing their respective sub-regional groups. The countries represented were: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, United States and Uruguay.

  2. During the meeting, the representatives approved the attached agenda and discussed the items listed therein.

  3. The next meeting of the Committee of Government Representatives on the Participation of Civil Society, is scheduled for September 13-14, 2001 in Panama City.

  4. Development of a draft document that includes the consolidated list of options to be considered by the TNC in Managua.

  5. Discussion of the sources of financing of the list of options.

  6. Preparation of the draft invitation prepared by the Chair for the consideration of the Committee.
