FTAA PROCESS – MIAMI 1994 - DECLARATION OF PRINCIPLES

With regard to the first paragraph that begins “Aware that investment......capital”, and the phrase “Investment must be the vehicle for growth”.

Apparently, the information highlighted above in red reveals a momentary truth: if a country’s civilization does not possess a high level of positive morals and a well-developed scientific and technological culture, there will be anarchic progress and a retrograde order.

Investment is material goods is undoubtedly necessary, yet it has a limit; it is a catalyst, not a principle or an objective; it promotes happiness or discontent. Investment in scientific and technological intellectual capital and in positivist moral capital is also needed so that the results obtained favor social well-being.

In order for economic development, and not only economic growth, to occur, several factors intrinsic to the individual behavior of human beings and to the collective behavior of human beings in society must be applied.

1) Morality – Living openly and living for others is a utopian ideal, but not a fantasy. At the very least, we must educate the masses so that fifty per cent of their emotional composition is altruism. This, rather than the current situation, in which eighty per cent of people’s emotional makeup (mainly in the media, film, theaters, etc.) is evil and selfishness. This trend must be reversed.

2) Order – understood as the scientific and technological reasoning of employers.

3) Progress – understood as improvement activities desired by Workers.

Thus, order is necessary for progress; progress is necessary for order. Progress is the development of order. And progress must be subordinate to order.

How is this possible? First, through a global emotional education plan. Using today’s internet-based education systems, we can create a graduate school for statesmen and women in each country to meet this need, for those who will govern and be governed in the future, so that they have the right to vote. More details to come.

We can imagine that if the “positivist moral entropy” of a population were close to zero, an implosion would ensue and, in turn, lead to the formation of a black hole, which would ultimately swallow us whole and create public uprisings, conflicts, robberies, class struggles, civil wars, etc.
