OBJECTIVE BY ISSUE AREA
DISPUTE SETTLEMENT
- Establish a fair, transparent and
effective mechanism for dispute settlement among FTAA countries, taking into
account inter alia the WTO Understanding on Rules and Procedures Governing the
Settlement of Disputes.
- Design ways to facilitate and promote
the use of arbitration and other alternative dispute settlement mechanisms, to
solve private trade controversies in the framework of the FTAA.
