PRESS COMMUNIQUÉ 

1. The Thirteenth Meeting of the Negotiating Group on Subsidies, Antidumping and Countervailing Duties (NGADCV) was held in Panama from October 29-30, 2001. Representatives of 19 countries of the Hemisphere were in attendance:
   

   	Argentina		Guatemala
   	Bolivia		Honduras
   	Brazil		Mexico
   	Canada		Panama
   	Chile		Peru
   	Colombia		Trinidad and Tobago
   	Costa Rica		United States
   	Dominican Republic		Uruguay
   	Ecuador		Venezuela
   	El Salvador

   
   

2. The deliberations took place according to the following agenda:
    
   1. Issues of interest to the NGADCV arising from the IX Meeting of the Trade Negotiations Committee (Managua, September 26 to 28, 2001)
      
      
   2. Identification of options for deepening disciplines on subsidies
      
      
   3. Draft consolidated text on Subsidies, Antidumping and Countervailing Duties

      Article 7: Provisional Measures
      Article 8: Undertakings
      Article 9: Imposition and Collection of Duties
      Article 11: Duration and Review of Definitive Duties and Undertakings
      Article 12: Public Notice and Explanation of Determinations

   4. Identification, based on the Study on the Interaction Between Trade and Competition Policies, of any areas that may merit further consideration by the TNC
      
      
   5. Other Business
       
3. The NGADCV took note of the distribution of the communication sent by the Committee of Government Representatives on the Participation of Civil Society.
   
   
4. The next meeting of the NGADCV has been scheduled for January 21-23, 2002.
