PRESS COMMUNIQUE

1.The Thirteenth Meeting of the Negotiating Group on Investment was held in Panama City on November 12-14, 2001. The following countries participated in the meeting: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, United States, Uruguay and Venezuela.

 2. The agenda approved for discussion is attached as  Annex I.

 3. The next meeting will be held from January 14-16, 2002.
