FTAA - NEGOTIATING GROUP ON INVESTMENT

Twelfth Meeting

Panama City, August 20 - 22, 2001

PRESS COMMUNIQUE

1. The Twelfth Meeting of the Negotiating Group on Investment was held in Panama City on August 20-22, 2001. The following countries participated in the meeting: Argentina, Bahamas, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, United States, Uruguay and Venezuela.

2. The agenda approved for discussion is attached as  Annex 1.

3. At its next meeting in September, which will be held in Managua, Nicaragua, the Trade Negotiations Committee will determine the date of the next NGIN meeting.
