Tenth Meeting

Panama City, May 10 - 11, 2001

PRESS COMMUNIQUE

1. The Tenth Meeting of the Negotiating Group on Investment was held in Panama City on May 10 - 11, 2001. The following countries participated in the meeting: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, United States, Uruguay and Venezuela.

2. The agenda approved for discussion is attached as  Annex 1.

3. At the meeting, the Group approved an Agenda and a Timetable for the Meetings for the current negotiating stage, in accordance with the mandate established at the Buenos Aires Ministerial Meeting of April 7, 2001.
