Required for
Application for
a Visitor Visa
|
A visitor seeking entry to Jamaica is required to establish to the satisfaction of the immigration officer identity and purpose of entry.
Passport required by all except United States and Canadian citizens that do not require passports for visits. Persons who are outside of the country of their citizenship must produce evince of re-entry facilities to the country of residence.
- A valid passport (recommend a minimum of six months validity beyond intended stay)
- Application form
- 2 passport-sized photograph
- Evidence of sufficient funds
- Return or outward-bound ticket for their next destination

Applications for visa may be submitted to the nearest Jamaican representative, or in their absence to the nearest British Consul.

Processing time
|
48 hours, but longer in cases where applications are referred to Immigration authorities in Kingston.

Multiple Entry
Visa
|
These are issued by the Immigration and Passport Office to persons who have been issued work permits for the duration of the permit or to persons who have been granted permission to reside in Jamaica.

Validity/Extension
|
The time of stay and the validity of the visa are dependent on the requirements of the applicants.

Cost of Visa Application
|
The equivalent in the currency of Jamaica, the United States of America or the United Kingdom, as the case may be, to the amount charged for a single entry visa (or multiple entry visa) on a Jamaican or British passport by the authorities of the country of which the applicant is a national.

Accompanying dependants
|
Family members accompanying a visitor to Jamaica must also meet all requirements for temporary entry.
|

General Requirements for Temporary Entry of Short-term Business Visitors
|
All nationals travelling on business do need a Business visa, except for Citizens of the Caribbean
Counties. The approval of the Ministry of Labor Social Security and Sports is required for business visits.

Specific
Requirements - CARICOM
|
Nationals from countries of the CARICOM do not require a visa for entry into Jamaica. They are however expected to satisfy the officers at the port
of entry in all other respects. Persons who are designated "skilled Persons" in keeping with the policy relating to free movement of skills are subject to certification by the Ministry of
Labor, Social Security and Sports for the time being.
