Citizens (including business persons) of the following FTAA countries require a visitor visa for admission and transit to Ecuador:

Application for 
a Visitor Visa 
A visitor seeking entry to Ecuador is required to establish to the satisfaction of the immigration officer identity and purpose of entry. All persons require a passport to enter Ecuador, except nationals from Colombia with an Identity card.
  • A valid passport (recommend a minimum of six months validity beyond intended stay)
  • Visa application forms
  • 2 Passport-sized photograph
  • Medical certificate of fitness

Lodgement
Application for a visitor visa must be made at a mission prior to seeking entry to Ecuador. Applicants are required to lodge their visa applications personally, an appointment is necessary.

Ecuador issues tourist, business and transit visas. 
Validity/
Extension
Any visitor entering Ecuador with visa is allowed to stay for up to three to six months. It is granted once a year taking into consideration the date of issue of the visa and first entry to Ecuador. A visa cannot be issued with validity longer than that of the passport. 

Cost of Visa Application The cost is US$30 for up to three months and US$50 for six months. Citizens from Colombia and Paraguay are free of charge.

Accompanying dependants Family members accompanying a visitor to Ecuador must also meet all requirements for temporary entry.


General Requirements for Temporary Entry of Short-term Business Visitors Ecuador’s Immigration Regulations allow for persons to enter Ecuador to carry on certain business or trade-related activities without the need to hold an employment authorization, as they are not considered to be coming to Ecuador to work. These individuals generally have occupations where the international freedom of movement is deemed to be crucial. Similarly, these persons usually represent a foreign company or organization and are not considered to compete with Ecuadorian workers. Examples are: representatives coming to Ecuador to sell goods other than to the general public; employees of an organization coming to consult with a branch, subsidiary or parent; representatives of a foreign firm coming to purchase goods or services and persons seeking entry to attend meetings or negotiate contracts.

Requirements
Business visitors must issue a visa prior to departure. 
  • All the requirements mentioned above for issuing a visitors visa will be required for a business visa
  • A company letter as proof of business intentions 
  • Economical guaranty before a public notary indicating that the foreigner will have sufficient funds for the permanence in Ecuador or Bank guaranty address to the consulate certifying that the applicant has an account that registers a satisfactory monthly flow; notarized or work certificate the monthly income of the applicant notarized. 

The cost of a Business visa is US$50.
