JOINT COMMUNIQUÉ OF CO-CHAIRS
The Co-Chairs of the Trade Negotiations Committee (TNC) held
consultations in Washington, D.C. February 22-23, 2005, on guidance
for developing a common and balanced set of rights and obligations
to be provided to the negotiators, as provided in the Miami
Declaration. This meeting built on discussions among countries
participating in the FTAA negotiations that have taken place since
the Seventeenth TNC meeting in Puebla, Mexico in February last year.
The Co-Chairs have continued to make progress and are optimistic
about the results of this meeting. We will meet again on March 29
and 30. The Co-Chairs will consult informally with delegations of
the other FTAA countries.

DECLARACION CONJUNTA DE LOS COPRESIDENTES
Los Copresidentes del Comité de Negociaciones Comerciales (CNC)
efectuaron consultas en Washington, D.C. los días 22 y 23 de febrero
de 2005, sobre las orientaciones para desarrollar un conjunto común
y equilibrado de derechos y obligaciones que serán impartidas a los
negociadores, según lo requiere la Declaración de Miami. Esta
reunión se basó en las discusiones entre países que participan en
las negociaciones del ALCA que se han realizado desde la
Decimoséptima Reunión celebrada en Puebla, México, en febrero del
año pasado.
Los Copresidentes han seguido avanzando y se muestran optimistas
sobre los resultados de esta reunión. Nos reuniremos nuevamente los
días 29 y 30 de marzo. Los Copresidentes consultarán informalmente
con las delegaciones de los demás países del ALCA.
